Finques Cel Blau: betting on music and culture on the Costa Brava and Sant Feliu de Guíxols

One more year, and now it’s the third, Finques Cel Blau is the sponsor of the Las Vegas club.

This initiative, started in 2023, continues the pleasant collaboration as main sponsors of Las Vegas in Sant Feliu de Guíxols, something that fills us with pride year after year.

Las Vegas is a reference point for nightlife and music and entertainment throughout the Costa Brava, as well as neighborhood we share a passion for music, culture and talent.

Its influence in Sant Feliu is undeniable and we are very excited to support such an emblematic space for the whole town.

A long history

The current director of the Las Vegas cinema, Marc Recolons, is the continuation of a lineage of entrepreneurs in the film industry that began in the early 20th century.

The history of Las vegas began with the arrival of the three brothers Esteve, Dionís and Josep Recolons in Palamós in the 1940s. Sons of a family of entrepreneurs in the film industry, they continued in the business managing different cinemas such as the Cine-Teatro Carmen, in Palamós, or later, the Cine Catalunya (later Victoria) in Sant Feliu de Guíxols.

In 1959 they opened the dance and show hall in the jardins Las Vegas and in the summer of 1963, seeing the success, the Las Vegas hall was inaugurated with a performance by the great Antonio Machín.

From the very beginning, the hall was already showing a cinema during the winter months and was transformed into a party and show hall during the summer. Since then, it has witnessed thousands of magical moments and memories for generations of Guixolencs and visitors alike.

Over the years and decades, artists of the stature of the aforementioned Antonio Machín, Julio Iglesias, Lluís Llach, Maria del Mar Bonet, Joan Manuel Serrat, la Trinca and Paco de Lucía, among many others, have performed on its stage.

This memorable list gives an idea of why the hall has been and is one of the most important meeting points not only in Sant Feliu, but also in the whole Costa Brava.

Now under the management of Marc Recolons since 2019, after some difficult years and on the occasion of its 60th anniversary, Las Vegas wanted to pay tribute to its trajectory.

Maintaining the essence of the golden age of the 70s and 80s of the last century and with all the modern technical equipment, a new stage began with a special and varied programme that included more than twenty concerts of musical styles as diverse as jazz, pop and rock.

This event also coincided with the 61st Porta Ferrada Festival, another of the municipality’s most emblematic cultural events, which favours artistic coordination with the Las Vegas hall.

Currently, Las Vegas has a stable programme throughout the year, with live music, cultural presentations, monologues and, of course, the legendary ballroom dancing.

The venue has established itself as a space that transcends simple entertainment, being a true cultural pillar for the community. With its different spaces, such as the Main Hall and other smaller areas, the programme adapts to the needs of all audiences, making the hall a cultural and social reference point in the region.
